The Darjeeling Limited: Review

I just finished seeing Darjeeling Limited, and I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters are winsome, the ‘action’ flows freely, and in view of the journey motif, it takes us on quite a ride.  I didn’t know what to expect when I started to watch it; in fact I feared that it would be terrible… it was actually quite good.

In its depiction of India; well, I guess a western view will always be an outside view. But it’s not so oppressive, or negative. Sort of brings you to the nostalgia of older movies’ about India.

But basically, this is a good journey movie; a road trip movie for grown ups.

Passage for this Season

Philippians 2:11-13 (NIV) (12)Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, (13)for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
