Recently watched… : quick review

There isn’t much time to watch movies, let alone review them. But of the movies I have watched in the last few months, here’s a “few”word review:

Toy Story 3 was moving and excellent.
Salt was also good, especially within the action movie genre.

Surprisingly, I enjoyed Expendables. Even revisited Rocky Balboa (Rocky 6) and enjoyed that too.

Karate Kid, quite nice. Made me want to see the original and enjoyed the original as well.

Date Night was nice.
Iron Man 2… was pretty disappointing. Didn’t feel it was a as good as Iron Man 1.
The Last Airbender… was not as bad as I expected. Poor M. Night Shyamlan…whatever.  He will forever be judged by “one good movie”.

Prince of Persia was ok. Passable.
I initially felt Robin Hood was disappointing, even boring. (updated: However after watching the DVD again, I was able to appreciate its subtleties).
Clash of the Titans… disappointing. Percy Jackson is more fun. (and again, that isn’t saying much).
Twilight 3 – ho, hum.
Shrek Forever After… better than Shrek 3… but that isn’t saying much.

Knight and Day… too loud, and not at all funny.

Looking at this list… it’s been a really sad here, it look like. Maybe the remainder of the year will have some good stuff.

Haven’t seen Inception yet. Don’t want to be disappointed. (updated: I did see Inception, and enjoyed it a lot).

Passage for this Season

Philippians 2:11-13 (NIV) (12)Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, (13)for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
