No Uniform-ity! Indian Cricket confusion over apparel

Not for the first time this season has there been confusion over the apparel of the Indian cricket team. Remember Team India left for South Africa without their gear? Then we were told that it would come within a few weeks. Few weeks became a few more weeks… but they arrived.

And then, we are now informed that actually we won’t get to see them in action for another two months! Hmm… I guess Nike is getting some free publicity over this. But considering that I don’t think Nike’s Indian-made shoes are of International standards (they’re terrible, have you assessed the stiching/pasting???)… I’m not surprised with this fiasco.

Of course BCCI has been trying to fix the unprofessionalism so rampant in Indian cricket management. But all this suggests how deeply rooted the problem really is. It’s not going to go away in a hurry!

Anyway… now I wonder what the Indian team IS going to wear for the World cup! BBC suggests that the Indian team is going to wear the same gear, with different logo positioning. I guess that’s a relief… otherwise we’d have to send our team in whites!!! Anyway, the BBC is right. We Indian cricket fans will support anything! Now, let’s focus on the cricket!!! :)

Another report here. Read the cricinfo article here. Which I found out with the help of this blog-entry.

Nice one… I agree that the BCCI needs to bring in greater professionalism and transparency into the running of cricket in India. We have commented on some aspects of this at our blog which is at Cheers. Mohan

Passage for this Season

Philippians 2:11-13 (NIV) (12)Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, (13)for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
