or CONTEXTUAL QUIET-TIME RAMBLINGS: From Sunday to Saturday

WEEK ONE | WEEK TWO | WEEK THREE | WEEK FOUR

Updated on 24 December 2006. Next expected update early 2007.

Disclaimer: The content is written by an Indian Christian. Hence it has both Indian and Christian concerns. This is not written to offend anybody, either non Indian or anyone from another faith. However, this is indeed what I believe about my God, and how I understand the world. The contents are not hidden, meaning it’s for all to see. Yet, it is written by an insignificant person (me) for people he really loves and wants to share this with (and that’s particularly my friends and/or those who know my faith). Please read the remainder with caution and grace. Thanks.

This page hopes to feature 7-day reflections on some passages of the Bible that remind us that God our Father loves the world, sent His Son Jesus to save the world, and wants us now, through His Spirit, to live in this world so that we may make a difference in this world as His witnesses, ambassadors, children and friends.

These 7-day reflections are structured so that those who use it will READ the biblical passage, if nothing else. Meaning, they are best used if you have a copy of a Bible with you. Better still, copy the text and print it out and use at your convenience (if you do want to use it). If you have more time, reflect also on the questions. If you have even more time, and the inclination, then read the ‘thoughts’ as a supplement to your own. These thoughts do not represent the ‘right’ interpretation, but just one perspective to dialogue with your own thoughts. Remember, every Christian can read the Bible for themselves, of course along with others. We need each other, but that doesn’t mean we can’t think for ourselves.

This is a work in progress, so please consider this only a draft.

Hi Steve: The following link has pdf versions of Bibles in many languages, Hindi (my language) included. http://www.wbtc.com/site/PageServer?pagename=downloads_main

I’ll try to make an image upload of the file Jesus, but the pdf text of various languages may be interesting for your project.

Passage for this Season

Hebrew 12:1-3 (1)Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. (2)Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (3)Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
