Definition of Cricket (Indian version)

This is the unauthorized definition of cricket (Indian edition):

crick·et (krĭkĭt) n.

  1. An outdoor game played with bats, a ball, and wickets by two teams of 11 players each.
  2. An outdoor game on which the collective self-esteem of the Indian nation hinges. If we win, we’re the greatest people on this planet. If we lose, we are the weakest, most shameful ones.
  3. An outdoor game in India in which victory is not measured by the result of a match, but on whether the Indian team is better off than the Pakistani team. Currently, we’re winning!
  4. (most recent update) A game played between two teams, in which there is always only one winner…. Australia!

More definitions (though less fun ones) here.

As an Aussie, I must say that I am quite proud of our achievement in this arena!

    Aussie perspective:

Having been through past prolonged periods of failures by the Australian test team, I can relate to #2.

For #3, replace Pakistan with NZ (at least in my household)

    Good post, well done

Passage for this Season

Hebrew 12:1-3 (1)Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. (2)Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (3)Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
